Product description

Lovell’s thermoformed fish trays are produced from food-grade Freezer Grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and Freezer Grade Polypropylene (PP), thermoplastic sheet, extruded on-site at our FSSC 22000 certified facility in Bronkhorstspruit. Designed for the full cold chain, each tray holds product securely in position from the packing line through refrigerated transport to retail display

Portion control and presentation
Each tray is formed to keep individual portions separated and contained, reducing product movement, minimising juice transfer, and maintaining a clean, consistent appearance at the point of sale. Whether you’re packing whole fish, fillets, or portion cuts, the tray geometry is designed to complement your product dimensions and your retailer’s planogram.

Material and certification
All fish trays are produced from virgin-grade or post-consumer recycled Freezer Grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and Freezer Grade Polypropylene (PP), compliant with food contact regulations. Our FSSC 22000 food safety management system covers the full production process, with batch traceability on every run. Documentation is available on request to support your own retailer and compliance requirements.

Heat-seal and modified atmosphere compatibility
Our fish trays are available in heat-seal compatible formats for use with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) lines, extending shelf life and meeting the requirements of major grocery retailers. Lidding film compatibility can be specified at the design stage.

Custom sizing and tooling
Standard sizes are available from stock tooling. If your product requires a specific footprint, depth, or compartment configuration, our on-site design and mould-making team can develop custom tooling — from approved brief to first sample, without involving third-party toolmakers.
